Job Purpose
The Master Planner and Scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling all work across the project lifecycle. This role involves creating detailed programs and monitoring performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, in accordance with UGLRL procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implement planning strategies, approaches, reviews, and monitoring for all work and projects.
2. Develop and manage a Master Schedule for all asset works on the CRN.
3. Create a 3-year rolling possession plan for efficient delivery of the 3MWP and enhancements.
4. Develop schedules with Procurement and Project Managers for contractor tendering and procurement.
5. Develop systems and processes for project handovers, ensuring all artefacts are received from Project Teams.
6. Ensure the CRN TAO plan is diligently applied across all projects, particularly for contractor procurement.
7. Conduct project planning activities in accordance with UGLRL policies and procedures.
8. Lead and support Project Managers in creating and developing their Project Plans and schedules.
9. Maintain and challenge all planning and scheduling assumptions across the program and project portfolio.
10. Provide regular reporting to UGLRL and TfNSW on schedule status and risks, recommending corrective actions as needed.
11. Ensure successful implementation of Project Controls (EVM) processes on projects.
12. Lead the Planning Team, supporting the Project Management Teams and the wider business.
13. Communicate job expectations to direct reports, including monitoring and coaching employees.
14. Lead team projects through organization, coordination, planning, scheduling, and monitoring results.
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary degree in Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture, or Project Management, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Rail Maintenance or a Rail Projects environment, or extensive experience with project/program planning and scheduling.
Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in scheduling and organising multi-discipline programs of work.
