Your new Team and Role: An outstanding opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Fenner team in Perth.
Based in our Kwinana office, this role supports the sales and engineering team, assisting with technical support, product development, and in-field representation for a major tier 1 belt contract.
Critical to this position is the ability to project manage, meet deadlines and strategic objectives as well as building relationships with key stakeholders and clients; occasional site travel is also required.
This is no ordinary engineering role, you need the drive to succeed using the latest technology and deliver continual improvement and innovation, including a world-class service to one of our major belt clients.
Key Responsibilities: Responsible for measuring and monitoring conveyor belts on site.
Lead contact for all customer account matters and be responsible for engaging and escalating issues.
Support and advise operational, service or product situations to our customers.
Responsible for project management and ensure flexibility while working on projects with other clients.
Develop a business plan and objectives; develop and implement actions and initiatives that will positively impact the account's safety, financial and operational performance.
Evaluate quotations utilizing supplier information, cost standards, technical information from quality, manufacturing engineering, design.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the account's overall performance and KPIs.
Establish and monitor targets in operational standards, safety, financial performance, quality and costs associated with downtime and reliability.
Drive conveyor improvements through client engagement.
Represent the organization as required at relevant formal meetings and working groups/committees.
Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with existing and potential major accounts to promote service offerings and profitable ongoing business relationships.
Ensure all the organization's activities comply with relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, and ethical standards.
What you need: Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering – ideally 2 years post-graduate or extensive experience as a conveyor specialist.
Knowledge of conveyor systems; belt maintenance or belt splicing.
Experience leading and managing projects including scope and execution.
Ideally experience working in the mining industry with previous exposure to conveyors.
Basic quality and OHS process and procedures.
Basic tender response management experience.
High-end reporting writing and analysis skills.
Must have the ability to complete manual engineering calculations.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Hold full Australian work rights.
