The Wellbeing Teacher Aide provides support to students, staff, and the school community by assisting in the implementation of wellbeing programs (including internal retrievals) and fostering a welcoming, positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment.This role involves working with the wellbeing team to promote a strong sense of belonging, resilience, positive behaviour, and social-emotional development through modelling our values of Perseverance, Integrity, Nurturing, and Excellence.This position is offered on a temporary part-time basis, at 0.79 FTE and 60 hours per fortnight, for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

About the RoleKey Responsibilities Student SupportWelcoming our late students to build and develop their sense of belonging to our schoolDistributing uniforms to students who require themPreparing lunches for students Assisting students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience strategies whilst they wait for appointments with Wellbeing staff.Provide one-on-one and small group support to students on internal retrieval in the reset room who have experienced social or emotional challenges.Support students in managing conflict and promoting positive peer relationships whilst students complete incident reports in the Hub.Classroom and Program Assistance (The HUB and Reset Room) Assist in the delivery of wellbeing programs and initiatives, such as academic work during internal retrievals, mindfulness, anti-bullying campaigns, and resilience strategies.Support teachers in implementing social-emotional learning activities in the classroom.Monitor and assist with student engagement in wellbeing-related activities.Collaboration and Communication Work closely with the Wellbeing staff (including Deputy Principals, Guidance Officers, Heads of Year, and teachers) to identify and support students in need.Communicate with parents and carers when required, under the guidance of the school wellbeing and leadership team.Participate in team meetings and contribute to wellbeing planning and initiatives.School Environment and Inclusion Promote a positive and inclusive school culture through respectful and supportive interactions that model our school values.Encourage student participation in wellbeing and engagement activities.Assist in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students.Administrative and General Duties Maintain records of student interactions and wellbeing interventions as required.Assist in organizing wellbeing events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.Perform other duties as directed by the school leadership team.Key Selection Criteria Experience working with children or young people in an educational or wellbeing setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to support students with emotional, social, and behavioural needs.Understanding of child development and mental health challenges in a school context.Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.Empathy, patience, and a commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and student wellbeing.This role is ideal for individuals passionate about student wellbeing and eager to support a positive, welcoming learning environment.
