We are Greater Together at Greater Shepparton Secondary College (GSSC). Our families, staff, and community work together to support our young people, and our students lean on these support networks to achieve their best.
Although we cater for more than 2,200 students, we retain a small school atmosphere through our House and Neighbourhood structure. This model allows students to feel a sense of Greater Belonging by having a house to call home, enabling them to build relationships with key staff and peers.
Building relationships and nurturing a student-centred culture is at the forefront of everything we do here at GSSC. Our College and House Captains, along with specialist First Nations, Multicultural, Values, Environmental, and Music Student Leaders, provide invaluable student voice and role model our college values.
We recognize that achieving personal best is unique to each student, which is why our mentoring and counselling are tailored to individual needs. The Wellbeing Team focuses on providing Greater Care through various services, including our Doctors in School program and Mental Health Practitioners.
Our people are essential to our school community. We have built a fantastic workplace culture supported by an induction and mentorship program for new staff. Teaching in Greater Shepparton offers the best in professional learning, with the city home to a regional centre of the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.
GSSC reflects its community as a highly multicultural school, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all community members are treated equitably.
The area is culturally diverse, with almost one-quarter of the population born overseas. Migrant communities have settled in the region from various countries.
This role is focused on planning, preparation, and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. You will be expected to meet the diverse needs of all students, model exemplary classroom practice, and provide expert advice on professional learning.
The Department of Education values diversity and inclusion and provides reasonable adjustments for persons with disabilities. Child Safe Standards promote the safety and wellbeing of all students, committed to protecting students from harm.
