Led by the Chief Finance Officer, Finance enables the directorate's business areas with information and support to conduct financial activities and meet their financial obligations.This is achieved through the provision of financial management and governance that includes, though is not limited to: Providing strategic and operational advice in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1996.Establishing and maintaining financial controls, delegations, instructions, procedures, policies and financial management systems.The development and allocation of internal and external budgets, including the coordination of Major Project Canberra's input into government's annual budget papers.Preparing Major Project Canberra's financial performance reports and annual financial statements.Accounts receivable and accounts payable processing.Maintaining cashflow and monitoring financial performance against budget.As a member of the Finance team, the Director ACT Property Group (ACTPG) Finance Business Partners (Director) is responsible for assisting the Chief Finance Officer in providing leadership to the team responsible for supporting the financial management of Major Projects Canberra.This position is a management role leading a team that provides high level specialist advice to the Chief Finance Officer and the executive on a diverse range of financial issues.The position assists in the delivery of a range of financial accountability functions within Major Projects Canberra including budget preparation, financial reporting, financial analysis and planning, and adherence to the Financial Management Act 1996.The Director will liaise across whole of government and with various external stakeholders to collaboratively improve financial management practices.Eligibility/Other requirements: Highly desirable: Tertiary qualification in accounting/finance is preferred.Membership and professional accreditation or progress thereto of a peak Australian accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA).Five plus years of public accounting and/or private industry experience with knowledge of accounting and finance practices and processes.Experience in using TM1, CDM, Oracle E-Business suite, GBMS, AGBMS, TARS is highly desirable.An understanding of business, finance and administrative processes within the ACT Government or other public sector environment.Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately up until 31 March 2025 with the possibility of permanency.Must include the mandatory requirements for the Infrastructure Managers/Specialists (IM/S) or Infrastructure Officers (IO).How to Apply: Please submit no more than a two-page written response addressing why you are best suited for this position and your experience against the Professional/Technical Skills and Knowledge, Behavioural Capabilities and Compliance Requirements/Qualifications outlined in the Position Description, along with a current curriculum vitae and contact details for two referees.Applications should be submitted via the Apply Now Button below.#J-18808-Ljbffr
