In this role, you'll:
Be working as part of the Maintenance and Delivery team in the Upper Hunter at Singleton depot delivering road and traffic infrastructure and maintenance projects in order to achieve road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.
As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for:
1. Responsible for nominated projects by managing time, scope, quality and budget.
2. Analysing challenging problems and providing technical advice and solutions to project teams.
3. Managing a blue-collar workforce through a direct delivery arrangement.
4. Engaging actively in a safety-first culture and driving innovations and improvements in this area.
5. Procuring and overseeing service providers, monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs to make effective use of resources and deliver agreed objectives.
6. Preparing contract documents for road works projects, including technical specifications to engage, administer and deliver contract works and ensure efficient project delivery.
About you
7. You’re a strong communicator who is self-driven, able to work in both independently and within a dynamic on-site team environment. You’re confident in your ability to manage and influence teams to achieve good outcomes for your projects.
8. You will have tertiary qualifications in civil engineering and have experience in the design, construction, inspection and/or maintenance of pavement, road and/or earthworks infrastructure.
9. You have experience in the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WH&S management plans, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans for assigned projects.
10. You have experience in managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects.
11. You will be a proactive analytical thinker and possess high level communication skills. The ability to astutely manage time and work collaboratively and closely with stakeholders to deliver is paramount, as is your dedicated commitment to safety and quality.
