About the Opportunity:
The Disability Trust is contracted to deliver the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program in SE NSW, designed to assist people with complex mental illness in accessing services, testing eligibility for the NDIS, and accessing individualised supports with a psychosocial recovery focus. To ensure program delivery is a success, we are seeking a passionate individual to join our team, with flexibility to be employed as a Psychosocial Support Worker or Peer Worker dependent on life experience and qualifications.
As a member of the team, you will work to ensure the successful implementation of psychosocial supports for our clients. Your responsibilities will include to:
* Assist the people we support in navigating the service system and accessing mainstream clinical and specialist mental health supports
* Assist people being supported to apply for the NDIS where relevant
* Provide non-clinical support to people with mental health conditions, based on contemporary recovery approaches
* Maintain accurate records and provide information for reporting purposes
* Adopt a person-centred approach, developing recovery-focused goals
* Assist with building personal capacity and stability of individuals
* Thrive in a diverse and fast-paced work environment
The delivery of the Recovery Partners project is across the Bega Valley, Eurobodalla and Snowy Monaro regions. This position will be based at our Bega office and is a part-time contract of 40 hours per fortnight until June 30, 2025 with the likelihood of an extension.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an individual experienced in supporting people living with a mental illness, either as a peer worker and/or psychosocial support worker. We are looking for someone to join our team who is keen to create positive outcomes in this challenging and rewarding role. In addition, you will have:
* Cert IV in Mental Health / Peer Work or be prepared to undertake training
* A well-developed understanding of integrated stepped care approaches and associated principles
* Lived experience and/or knowledge of the NSW mental health system and associated services
* The ability to create engaging relationships with all stakeholders
* Driver Licence and access to reliable vehicle
* NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check

The hourly rate for this role ranges from $37.35 - $40.05 per hour plus superannuation, to be determined based on experience and qualifications. In addition, we will provide you with:
