We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidates will be responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration. Responsibilities: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Provide emotional support and companionship to clients Help clients with mobility and transportation needs Administer medication and monitor health conditions Assist with meal preparation and household tasks Develop and implement individualized care plans Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients Maintain accurate records and documentation Essential requirements: Minimum nationally accredited completion of Certificate 4 and above in relevant Disability or Community Service field Previous House Leader/ Team Leader experience is highly desirable Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Employee Working with Children Check Willingness to obtain a National Police Check A valid Australian driver’s license with a reliable and comprehensively insured car A current First Aid and CPR Certificate A current certification in Trauma Informed Care (desirable) About you: Minimum 12 months of experience working with children and teenagers in Out of Home Care or Foster carer programs, ITC or Disability settings Must be available to work across a rotating roster including weekdays, sleepovers and weekend shifts. Willing to travel locally and interstate for casual shifts. Willing to undergo pre-employment checks and approvals as per clients discretion (waiting times may apply) You have the ability to connect and build rapport with the young people and show a genuine interest in their lives, whilst maintaining professional boundaries. You have the ability to manage difficult situations and behaviours and be able to de-escalate these situations in a therapeutic way. You are committed to providing client-focused services with positive outcomes. Experience Working with high needs vulnerable young people who have experienced significant trauma and understanding how this effects their behaviour and emotional needs.
