The Role
As Exploration Field Technician you will work within the Exploration Geology department, and help support all diamond drilling activities on site. This will involve working with the Exploration, Resource Definition and Mining Geology teams. You will work closely within a group of technicians, to process drill core, including meter marking, core orientation, geotechnical logging, cutting, sampling and measuring specific gravity. All these tasks will include on the job training.
Additionally, there may be some requirement for field activities where you would operate in a pair, away from the mine site, conducting activities such as photographic monitoring of drill sites, core pick up, or supervision of contractors.
You will play a key role, in supporting the drilling programmes which are undertaken by Aeris, which are a key component to the ongoing success of Aeris Tritton Operations, to support mining operations into the future.

Reporting to the Regional Exploration Manager your responsibilities will include:
* Support drilling programmes – you will be involved in the processing of drill core which will include meter marking, core orientation, geotechnical logging, cutting, sampling and measuring specific gravity, in addition to other tasks from time to time. You will provide feedback to the Resource Development Senior Geologist for issues encountered.
* Deliver Geological products – be responsible for high quality data collection (i.e. RQD, Photos) which will support the geological teams.
* Quality Control – ensure the highest quality data is being collected in line with Industry best practice, and Aeris policies and procedures.
* Teamwork – operate collaboratively with the Exploration Technicians, and the broader Aeris geological team, notably the Resource Development, Greenfields Exploration and Mine Geology teams, to foster a positive work culture, and deliver best practice geological outputs.
* Risk Management – identify and mitigate risks associated with daily tasks.
* Stakeholder Engagement - engage with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
* Continuous Improvement - drive continuous improvement initiative to improve the efficiency and productivity of the team.

About You
LIVING IN THE NYNGAN REGION, NO MORE THAN 1 HOUR DRIVE SOME SITE. NO CAMP ACCOMMODATION AT THIS SITE SO YOU MUST DRIVE HOME EVERY NIGHT
* Manual drivers license essential (must be current)
* Previous work experience outdoors and/or the ability to perform manual labour tasks is essential
* Demonstrate proactive safety behaviour
* Enthusiasm and a strong ability to work well in a team environment is critical!
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* High standard of work quality
* High Risk forklift licence - desirable
* First Aid certificate - desirable

The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations is a long life copper operation located near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in central New South Wales that commenced production in 2005. One hundred percent owned and operated by Aeris Resources, Tritton forms the cornerstone of Aeris copper production.
Tritton comprises an underground mining complex feeding a 1.8 million tonne per annum conventional processing plant. Copper concentrate produced at the operation is railed to the Port of Newcastle for export to customers internationally. The current mine plan for Tritton extends to FY2030.
