About this opportunity
The position will provide a connection between the Site, Divisional and Group level HSES activities and will drive the implementation of the Group HSES Systems while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and sustainability regulations and standards in accordance with Australian laws and industry best practices.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential incidents.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on health, safety, environmental, and sustainability matters.
* Lead incident investigations, ensuring thorough analysis, and timely reporting to relevant authorities as per Australian legislative requirements.
* Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
* Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness and enhance competencies in health, safety, environmental, and sustainability practices.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
* Proven experience in health, safety, environmental, and sustainability management within a manufacturing environment in Australia.
* In-depth knowledge of Australian health, safety, environmental, and sustainability legislation and regulations.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, analyse data, and make recommendations for improvement within an Australian context.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives.
* Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, sustainability, or a related field or equivalent experience.
* Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety are advantageous.
* Training and certifications in specific Australian regulations and standards relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g., WHS Act, AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018) are preferred.
