The incumbent will work with Cheniere's lead meteorologist to provide forecasts and weather information to support the company's day to day LNG operations, as well as decisions on the trading desks in Houston and London.Weather forecasting will run the gamut, from site-specific forecasts at hourly and daily timescales to high level overviews of global weather on monthly and seasonal timescales.The meteorologist will effectively communicate this information to numerous internal stakeholders.They will also work to improve, enhance, and streamline current processes and assist the gas supply team as needed in analysis of natural gas and power market fundamentals.This is a full-time in-office position.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Create daily forecasts to explain how weather will impact operations at our LNG facilities.Provide traders and analysts with updates of how weather will impact the natural gas market over the upcoming days, weeks, and/or months, with a focus on Europe and Asia.Develop and expand internal weather-related tools to provide fundamental analysts and traders more visibility on weather data.Work with marine and commercial operations group to assist in business planning around weather events that may impact operations, such as wind, fog, or tropical systems.Available to respond to requests beyond typical working hours; some occasional light weekend work will be required.Willingness and availability to respond to an off-site location, potentially after hours and for multiple days at a time to assist the Business Support Team with weather forecasts and information.Willingness to travel to Houston (if seated in London) or London (if seated in Houston) at least once per quarter to work from that office.Assisting other members of the gas supply team in developing weather and non-weather related data showing impacts to the natural gas and electricity markets.Conduct research on weather forecasting and evolve internal weather data and forecast capabilities, specifically focused on Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America.The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:The candidate must be comfortable forecasting weather at multiple timescales and over multiple, diverse regions, both at the synoptic scale and the mesoscale.Knowledge of weather models and their biases and how to interpret their output;
