We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Fields Aged Care Home located in Eaton. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Fields is a 160 bed facility designed specifically to provide support for people who need 24 hour care, including those with special care needs and dementia.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience or an interest in food preparation and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.
We have several permanent part time roles available, with the successful applicant committing to at least three shifts per week as below:
* Working closely with the Chef in the main kitchen on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 9.30am - 4.30pm
* Working mornings or afternoons completing general food prep and maintenance in our serveries across week days and weekends 7.30am – 2pm or 3.30pm – 8pm
About You
* Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
* Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
* Reliable with a strong work ethic
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
* Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one)
The Role
* Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
* Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
* Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
* Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
* Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery
