In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of 18 direct reports, ensuring efficient warehouse operations and importantly, facilitating a safe working environment.Our ideal candidate will have strong people management skills, experience working in a diverse team and a deep understanding of warehouse operations and commercial acumen. If you’re a proactive leader with a passion for optimising workflows and empowering teams, we want to hear from you!Primary Responsibilities:Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring appropriate safety protocols are followed and run regular team toolbox meetingsDay to day staff management including workload distribution, performance management, coordination/monitoring of leave and staff development & engagementDevelop and implement SOPs and maintain regular liaison with internal departments and client/suppliers to maintain overall site productivityEnsure daily warehouse operations KPIs are met such as but not limited to container packs/unpacks, pre-loads, documentation, stock controlOversee day to day warehouse operations and conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure equipment/signage/infrastructure are maintainedDevelop and maintain strong customer relationshipsPrepare and manage warehouse budgets/costsThis is a permanent, full-time position Monday to Friday however some weekend availability may be required from time to time during peak seasons.THE CANDIDATERequired Experience & Knowledge:Minimum 3+ years in a warehouse operations management positionComprehensive knowledge of warehouse policies & proceduresThorough understanding of primary goods and/or dairy product logistics requirementsDemonstrated people management and leadership experience, preferably of a large team with the ability to coach and motivate othersComfortable conducting difficult conversationsExcellent organisational and planning skillsSafety Focused and alignment with our company values: Safety, People, Respect, Integrity & Being ProgressiveExcellent customer service and problem-solving skillsProficiency in warehouse management systems, inventory software and Microsoft Office suiteCurrent Victorian Driver’s licence and own carDesired:Current forklift licenceCurrent dangerous goods licencePrior experience / knowledge working with PAVE systemExperience in change managementDegree/Qualification in logistics & distributionHOW TO APPLYSimply submit your resume & cover letter by clicking ‘Quick Apply’.
