As the WHS Coordinator you will have the chance to shape and influence injury management, as well as contribute to the overall safety culture and performance of the organisation. You will be able to utilise your skills and knowledge to support employees and managers in achieving positive outcomes and minimising the impact of workplace injuries. Duties of a WHS Coordinator include: Provide strategic advice to senior management on both work-related and non-work-related health matters affecting employee hiring, performance and / or attendance. Collaborate with the business to develop and implement proactive health and well-being initiatives. Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive work health and safety framework, policies, and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards. Provide training and awareness programs to employees regarding WHS policies and procedures. Actively participate in incident investigations, analysing root causes, and implementing preventive measures. Actively participate in WHS committee meetings to discuss and address workplace safety concerns and provide updates on injury management and return to work initiatives. Participate in quarterly claims review meetings with workers' compensation insurers and the broker / advisor. Ensure a safe environment is maintained for all employees by undertaking regular safety audits and risk assessments as required. Report workplace incidents and hazards, while assessing and managing risks, including unsafe materials and equipment. Engage with industry networks to stay informed about best practices and industry benchmarks. Attend conferences and seminars to remain up-to-date with the latest trends in occupational health and safety. Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
