About the role We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Laboratory Manager to lead, support, and manage the local team of staff within the Wyvern Hospital Laboratory.
As the Laboratory Manager, you will play a crucial role in establishing our new lab's protocols, selecting, and implementing laboratory equipment from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the lab's culture and processes from the start, creating a foundation for patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
As the Laboratory Manager, you will become part of a passionate, vibrant, and engaged team who will be responsible for:
Performing all laboratory/scientific accountabilities and responsibilitiesTraining other laboratory staff in standards, procedures, and protocols in practice in the laboratory through an understanding of the underlying principles involved as distinct from the practicesManaging the consumables and laboratory expenditureMaintaining ongoing competency assessments of staffPerforming evaluation and review of technical methods and equipmentReviewing incidents and complaints and implementation of corrective actionsPreparing staff rosters to ensure continuous service in laboratory or scientific area covering all shifts including on-callProcessing timecards for staff membersParticipating in the recruitment of staffSuccession planning to ensure the ongoing stability of the laboratoryAbout you To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
