Be guided and supported on how to safely and competently carry out maintenance and repairs under the supervision of the Production Maintenance Manager.Over the course, this hands-on position will see you attend one day of trade school per week as you upskill yourself and take that knowledge back to your workplace - meaning you will earn and learn at the same time! Primary Purpose Assist in ensuring all equipment and infrastructure is in good condition and working order within the production areas in the sheds at Twyford Road and does not pose any immediate OH&S and food safety risk.Conduct routine and preventative maintenance work and conduct unplanned breakdown repairs as required.Ensure all maintenance activities conducted comply with all the requirements of OH&S legislation and the food safety and quality standards to which Schreurs is accredited, including Global GAP, SQF and HARPS About You We're looking for someone who demonstrates a high level of written and verbal numeracy and literacy skills, is willing to undertake TAFE study one day weekly in Dandenong, has a strong mechanical aptitude, and enjoys working as part of a team. Duties and Responsibilities Provide preventative maintenance services as per the schedule and ensure its delivery in a timely & productive mannerEnsure safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant, equipment and systems that minimises the risk of product, packaging and equipment contaminationEnsure that all new equipment and plant acquired abides by all Schreurs quality and food safety as well as OH&S requirementsReview the operation of plant, equipment and systems to minimise unplanned downtime and ensure that food safety is not compromisedEnsure that any work area is maintained tidy at all times, all tools and other loose items are controlled and any work completed does not pose a food safety riskLead the production maintenance as 2IC for Production Maintenance Manager in times of leave or absenceAssist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.Perform precision fitting, alignment, and adjustment of components.Develop skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical failures.Participate in continuous learning and development opportunities.
