Job Summary
:
In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s mechanical aspects.
You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes.
Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s mechanical aspects are met.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for a small size project or assignment in support of a global business unit or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications .
2. Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) .
3. Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals .
4. Coordinates mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups .
5. When delegated, provides guidance to other mechanical engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects .
6. Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
7. Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 – 13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
8. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computers in the discipline, and of engineering work planning and control methods.
9. Computer skills including competence in MS Office suite and other common software.
10. Flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks.
11. Analytical problem-solving capabilities.
12. Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
