The School Curriculum and Standards Division is seeking a highly experienced professional with expertise in providing high-level strategic support to join their team as Director.

2. Make your mark by providing high-level strategic and operational advice to the Executive Director, with respect to optimizing and innovating the design and delivery of assessments.
3. Join the agile environment of the School Curriculum and Standards Division providing opportunities to contribute as a member of the leadership team, undertake innovative research, implementation of state and national assessments, and manage special projects across the Division.
About the Division
The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of, the School Curriculum and Standards Executive Board. The Division provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The School Curriculum and Standards Division is responsible for:
4. setting standards of student achievement and for the assessment and certification of student achievement according to those standards
5. developing an outline of curriculum and assessment in schools that, taking account of the needs of students, sets out the knowledge, understanding, skills, values and attitudes that students are expected to acquire and guidelines for the assessment of student achievement
6. developing and accrediting courses for schools
7. maintaining a database of information relating to the participation of students during their school years in education, training or employment, and records of assessment in respect to students.
About the role
Located in the Examinations, Certification and Testing (ECT) Directorate, you will be responsible for evaluating the quality and effectiveness of programs and services, identifying trends and developing appropriate strategies to support improvement. You will lead in the promotion of a workplace culture that supports the Division’s values, employee development, customer service objectives and ethical decision-making. In addition to this you will oversee the Directorate’s budget to ensure expenditure is contained within required parameters.
We are seeking someone with the ability to provide high-level strategic support and advice to the Executive Director, School Curriculum and Standards, the Assistant Executive Director, ECT, and the Board to support the implementation of responsibilities in relation to K–10 Testing, OLNA, ATAR course examinations, any ancillary examinations/tests and copyright. The ability to collect, analyse and interpret quality data and contextual information as part of a system-wide approach to standards, performance, reporting, evaluation and accountability and prepare recommendations and reports is highly desirable.
