Technical Operations Lead
This role will take ownership and responsibility for the planning, coordinating & directing of Information Technology systems at the Brisbane Terminal and Brisbane Container Park.
Key Accountabilities
* Actively provide feedback on the system and hardware requirements at your respective port, making recommendations for improvements
* Work closely with different departments to determine requirements and identify areas of weakness that can be improved on
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies which will help IT align itself with the company’s overall strategy
* Maintain organisation effectiveness and efficiency by delivering and supporting plans for implementing new systems driven nationally or at a local level.
* Create a high-performance culture through personal leadership, teamwork and development of individual accountability for performance
* Identifying and engaging with key stakeholders: This includes building relationships with them to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Organizing and leading regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress, address concerns, and provide updates.
* Collecting feedback from stakeholders to better understand their needs and expectations and to inform project decision-making.
* Keeping stakeholders informed of project progress, changes, and potential impacts.
* Ensuring stakeholders have a clear understanding of project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and managing their expectations throughout the project life cycle.
* Plan for life cycle management of key hardware and software both in IT and the OPS/IT space (VMTs, Radios, Aps, Cameras, Auto Gate Equipment, GPS hardware software, New Heavy Equipment purchases requires a lot of on-board equipment within this list) with our 5-to-10-year plans.
* Plan, prioritise and co-ordinate the development of assigned local projects and ensure timetables and costs are adhered to
* Co-ordinate with existing project managers and teams, managing rollouts of new systems or upgrades and being the intermediary between project teams and operational teams onsite
* Work with different departments and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered in an effective manner and meet all business process and policy requirements
* Manage and monitor tickets queues of lower priority incidents and ensure resolution within Service Level Agreements (SLA).
* Investigate escalated and reported incidents, and provide resolutions in line with agreed SLA’s for nominated Business Services
* Proactively identify and resolve potential system and end user computing problems, taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
* Provide regular and consistent feedback to the Business accordingly by approved ITSM toolset and other communication methods to ensure a high level of customer service is provided.
* Work as part of a national team to share experience and relevance across the group. Eliminate silos and work to implement standardised and consistent approach across the field-based IT Service Delivery team
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in relevant IT disciplines
* 5+ years of IT industry experience
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
* ITIL Foundations
* Hands on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, access points and other network infrastructure
* Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of security roles, issues and risks in a medium level enterprise
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of how to work with other teams, i.e. Architects, Developers, Test and Infrastructure teams
* Demonstrated experience in project management in IT environments
* In-depth understanding and experience in managing Internet Protocol (IP) networks
* Extensive knowledge of technologies such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, IP Telephony, Analogue & Digital Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, Terminal Operating Equipment, Mobile Devices, 2-Way Radio systems
* Knowledge and understanding of communication systems such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS) & Position Detection Systems (PDS) systems
