About the opportunity: The Western Australian Sales Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the Sales plan to maintain growth of the business in the WA market. This task will be accomplished through the management of the WA sales team and close liaison with senior customer representatives. You will be supported by a highly engaging and experienced National Sales Manager and have a strong technical resource to lean on when demonstrating new technology and innovation. This key leadership role can be suitable for an experienced sales professional with no direct people management experience however our client is also open to hearing from seasoned sales leaders who enjoy hands on leadership roles. Duties & Responsibilities: Development of the Western Australia sales plan in consultation with the National Sales Manager considering the business and marketing plan Hands on development of strategic key accounts and new customers relationships Implementation of pricing and margin strategies Active management of a small and professional sales team Building a cohesive and collaborative team culture Active participation in relevant industry associations, promotions, and key customer relationships to lift the company profile Motivation and development of the Sales team through coaching to deliver continuous improvement Monitoring of Sales Representative visit programs and activities, offer advice and support when required and regularly follow-up on training and succession plans Implementation of L&D training plans for the sales staff in WA Key Skills & Experience: Demonstrated experience in achieving sales targets including a track record of winning and maintaining significant new business accounts Capability of establishing long term profitable relationships across all levels of customer organization. (Regional Managers, Area Managers, Purchasing, Store Management and staff, contractors, builders, specifiers, and architects etc.) Be a seasoned sales leader coming from a trade-based business (Electrical, Plumbing or Construction Materials) or a highly experienced sales professional who is ready to take your first step into a sales leadership role Strong planning and implementation skills to ensure planned outcomes are successfully achieved Experience in servicing the electrical wholesale market, including coaching and staff development would be an advantage.
