The successful applicant will contribute to the assessment of children for learning needs, provide counselling, and provide advice to staff on youth mental health issues.Key elements of the role will include, but are not limited to:Undertake educational and psychological assessments for students.Assessment of mental health issues.Provide counselling for students for a range of mental health, emotional and family issues including crisis counselling.Providing advice to teaching staff on mental health and pastoral issues within the classroom setting.Liaise with specialist community organisations and agencies as needed.Maintain student information to meet regulatory requirements.Selection Criteria:Registered by the Psychology Board of Australia under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, ORHave provisional registration based upon possession of a degree with a fourth or fifth year qualification in psychology and a supervision agreement accepted by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), which will enable full registration following one to three years of supervised practice as a psychologist.Current Working with Children check and National Criminal History Check.Registration with Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Experience working with child and adolescent mental health.Empathy and a strong commitment to helping others.Strong administration and organisational skills.Previous experience in a school setting.To apply for this position:Applications must include a Cover Letter, Resume and Application Form addressing the selection criteria.
