Manjimup Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a Program Coordinator - Highly Accomplished Lead Teacher (HALT) to fill a new role as part of our Student Services Team. The role will be focusing on the positive engagement and wellbeing of students. As this is a new role the successful candidate will be part of the team who is developing our Multi Tiered systems of support for our students.
This role will include a teaching load (Max that will be in small group intervention, an area of specialty and/ or support for students in alternative learning programs such as SIDE and GT online.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience in or a passion for pastoral care with the ability to work as part of our Student Services team. It would also be beneficial to have experience or a passion for delivery of evidence-based intervention programs. A philosophy of positive behaviour, an understanding of multi-tiered systems of support and restorative practice will be desired for this role.
The role of the HALT will be to lead proactive approaches to pastoral care and behaviour management.
The role may include:
1. Small group intervention in the areas of Social Emotional Learning, Literacy and Numeracy.
2. Classroom observations of students at educational risk and the implementation of plans to support them.
3. Supporting the implementation of the “Teaching for Impact” as part of our commitment to Quality teaching
4. Supporting our ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) students who access courses through SIDE (School of Isolated and Distance Education) as well as our Gifted and Talented online students
5. Working collaboratively with our Student Executive to ensure student voice and improve leadership opportunities.
6. Work with key stakeholders to enhance the ‘student experience’ and support the coordination of activities and student events.
7. Assist in the day-to-day operations of Student Services at Manjimup SHS.
The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal skills which allows for them to successful create relationships with staff, students, and parents. They will need to be innovative thinkers and require organisational and communication skills to implement the aspects of their role.
