Your tasks
1. Compile and source market information, and assist in analysing markets and assessing risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.
2. Conduct sourcing activities in a timely manner and in accordance with the project program, established business and project policies, procedures and guidelines to meet project needs and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.
3. Manage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services that meet project requirements.
4. Compile and source market information, and assist in analysing markets and assessing risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.
5. Develop an appreciation of the head contract to enable proper management of the financial interests of the project.
6. Analyse, compare & clarify offers received and conduct negotiations with sub-contractors to achieve value for money/effective management of cost.
7. Close out commercial qualifications & prepare recommendations for award and obtain approval per limits of authority.
8. Liaise with Offshore team to ensure timely placement of purchase orders and to resolve any invoice or payment issues raised by suppliers.
9. Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the project to meet its obligations, minimise risk and maximise opportunities for cost avoidance and/or cost reduction.
10. Contribute to the development of procurement management plans, resolve issues, monitor performance of suppliers and negotiate variations through effective supplier relationships to enhance project outcomes.
11. Ensure that all records are methodically archived in line with procedures as the project progresses.
12. Prepare and/or coordinate reports, as required.
13. Maintain registers of procurement, requisitions, approval registers etc for inclusion in reports.
14. Manage site procurement operational expenditure to plan.
Your profile
15. At least 5 years of experience in sourcing/procurement.
16. Bachelors Degree in Finance/Engineering/Engineering/Quantity Surveying or equivalent preferred.
17. Understanding best practice in procurement policy, processes and legislation and building knowledge of the business and supplier. markets, given the rate of change in these areas.
18. Understanding of customer/client needs.
19. Proven negotiating and lateral thinking skills.
20. Financial management – demonstrable behavior in reducing costs and meeting budgets.
21. Contractual contract and claims awareness.
22. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
23. Computer proficient, Microsoft Office, SAP and Aconex an advantage terms.
