Following a recent acquisition located in Nowra, our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in their recent migration from MYOB to Great Plains, focusing on BS reconciliations from March 2024 to February 2025.
While this role is based in Canberra, there is a requirement for regular travel to the Nowra location. This could be multiple nights a week so the ability to drive to Nowra and stay overnight is essential (at the clients' expense).
Key Responsibilities of the role:

* Prepare financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements.
* Assist the Financial Controller with cash flow forecasting and management.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting and tax accounting.
* Hands-on verification of inventory, average age, and turnover ratios for all items of inventory managed on a MS Access Database.
Key Requirements:
* Degree qualified with CPA/CA accreditation.
* Extensive commercial financial accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing.
* Experience with Bill of Materials and/or inventory accounting (highly regarded).
* Proficiency in articulating financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with Great Plains (highly regarded).
* Ability to self-manage through ambiguous details and transactions to create a starting point for balance validation and necessary write-ups/downs (pending approval from the FC and CFO).
* Must be willing to be hands-on in all aspects of financial accounting.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for financial accounting, and you thrive on attention to detail and continuous improvement, we would love to hear from you!
