AEMO's obligations through technology and improves outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.Digital provides services to internal AEMO business units, employees, contractors, subsidiaries such as AEMO Services, external government bodies and market participants.The Energy Markets and Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS)Team will deliver new development, ongoing maintenance and operational support for AEMO managed energy markets across the National Electricity Market (NEM), Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and Gas markets including the associated retail systems.In addition this team will manage the AEMO Business To Business platforms and Web and Portal based systems.This includes the public facing AEMO website.Position Responsibilities Drive the creation and establishment of efficient 'ways of working' to ensure all teams are a cost effective, efficient, and scalable with external vendors/partners.At an organisational level assist the EGM Digital drive cultural change, promote cross departmental activities, be involved and champion corporate roll-outs/programs and provide input into organisational wide strategic planning forums.Provision of strategic advice and direction to Management on AEMO's Technology functions covering operational matters, strategies and efficiencies and collaborate with other Group Managers to build a strong and effective leadership team.Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Division, and in particular support and coaching of team leaders and staff to maximise their skills and potential within the organisation.Exercise sound managerial judgement and influence in adopting an AEMO position or commitment to actions.Owns and manages the applications environment, framework, tools and processes for the systems managed by the teams in this department.Ensures solutions meet business requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement and financial optimisation.Technology functions and capabilities managed by this department include: All Information Technology applications and systems, tools and utilities that are utilised to perform business critical and supporting business functionality for AEMO Market and Corporate business teams that cover the NEM, WEM, and Gas markets including, though not limited to: Market Settlement and Prudential Systems Forecasting Systems Retail Management Systems External AEMO Portals and Security Access Systems Public facing Websites.Corporate Systems such as Finance, Risk Management, People & Culture Data sharing platforms Business to Business Integration Platforms Application to Application Integration ServiceNow Platform functionality.Position Requirements Skills & Experience: Significant experience in a technology team leadership capacity managing multiple, large, cross-functional operational teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.Experience in the energy industry or similarly highly regulated industry experience relevant to fit for purpose information technology and data management.Good knowledge of the practices and principles associated with the operation of gas and electricity markets, wholesale and retail, and corporate systems within Australia.Ability to strategically negotiate with and manage key third party outsourced providers and garner their respect.Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to play an influencing role in the Organisation and Energy Industry.Strong experience in the development of application solutions to achieve business out comes.Experience in the leadership of high performing technology teams.Experience in transforming ways of working to be aligned with product-based team models.High level commercial acumen, combined with strong communication and financial modelling skills.Strong and demonstrable customer service and negotiation skills, relationship, and interpersonal skills Strong knowledge of the vendor, its' market, its competitors, and market trends (desired) Understanding of internal decision making and the decision making that occurs among vendors, including vendor motivations, strategic plans and market challenges.Strong dispute resolution and mediation skills to handle issue escalation.Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.Education/ professional Certifications: Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in IT, Project Management, or an equivalent appropriate discipline.Security
