The Opportunity A new opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to lead the Building Services Team.
This position will ensure Council meets the objectives of the relevant building legislation in relation to buildings and works, including providing leadership and guidance to other officers in relation to building matters.
Reporting to the Coordinator Building Services you will assess the level of risk to Council and the public in matters relating to illegal buildings and works Key Responsibilities Provide leadership, supervision, guidance, support, training, and education to the building services team on matters relating to building and construction.
Assess the level of risk to Council and the public in matters relating to illegal buildings and works.
Attend emergency callouts at the request of Emergency Services (i.e.
CFA, SES & Vic Police) on behalf of Council.
Supervise all aspects of program delivery including planning, delivery, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of program performance.

About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualifications in the field of Building Surveying.
5 or more years' experience working in the building/construction industry preferably in Local Government.
Registration as a building practitioner with the Victorian Building Authority (either Inspector or Building Surveyor).
Sound understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and referenced Australian Standards.
Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
