Description
We are seeking a Team Leader with urban, land or subdivision experience to join our Community Development team of engineers, designers and drafters in our Perth office. In this role you will manage the civil design and documentation on a variety of urban, land and subdivision projects in both the public and private sectors, across an extensive local and regional client portfolio. You will have the opportunity to resolve design constraints, coordinating projects, interfacing with various disciplines and delivering projects with the support of a multi-disciplinary team dispersed across the state.
In this Team Leader role, you will have the opportunity to be the 2IC for technical design, section management and strategic direction of this team. You will represent the company externally to Clients and play a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
You will enjoy a diverse position and will need to have the ability to multitask and share your time between project involvement, business development, group performance, staff management and management responsibilities.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to delivery
Prepare technical reports and specifications
Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects
Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets
Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
Undertake and manage site inspections
Contribute to the development of Stantec’s knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction
Mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
Direct line management of a team
Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients
Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Bachelor of Civil Engineering
Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects, ideally within urban, land and subdivisions
Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction
Project management skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing.
Relevant registration and professional accreditations
Team leadership and mentoring experience
