We provide care for up to 75 children from 6 weeks to 6 years.About the opportunity:Catholic Early EdCare are looking for an experienced cook to join our wonderful Star of the Sea - Long day care team. Utilise your skills and knowledge to provide a nutritious and balanced menu, which considers the needs and dietary requirements of all children. This position is suitable for someone looking to take advantage of work-life balance and values the health and wellbeing of children.Key Responsibilities: Plan and prepare healthy, balanced, and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children from babies to kindergarten age.Adhere to dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences of children.Ensure all meals meet the nutritional guidelines set by the centre.Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.Manage kitchen supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.Collaborate with staff to create meal plans and menus.Engage with children in a friendly and positive manner, promoting healthy eating habits.Participate in centre events and activities as required.Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or similar setting i.e. Aged Care.Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary requirements.Certification in Food Handling and Safety.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A positive and energetic attitude.What We Offer: A supportive and inclusive work environment.Opportunities for professional development and training.Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.The chance to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of children.How to Apply: If you are passionate about nutrition and enjoy working with children, we would love to hear from you!
