The main job of an Training Systems Officer is to provide expert advice on the application of the Air Force Training System. Training Systems Officers are integral to the maintenance of the Air Force's Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework. A Training Systems Officer will work with subject matter experts to analyse, design, and evaluate training to meet workplace needs and quality control the development and implementation of training.
An Air Force Training Systems Officer may be employed in a number of capacities.
First, as a member of a Training System Team at an Air Force base, you are responsible for consulting on and coordinating training, with military/civilian training staff, external service providers and students. You could be required to do some or all of the following tasks:
1. Identify training needs
2. Conduct training analysis
3. Design training courses
4. Facilitate development and implementation of training
5. Provide advice on course evaluation
6. Validate courses against workplace needs
7. Provide training solutions
8. Provide advice on appropriate training technology, including e-learning and/or other technology based training methods
9. Facilitate the development of systems for quality training and assessment and
10. Manage instructors and training developers
Second, as an officer working at a Headquarters you could be required to employ specialist skills to provide advice on and develop guidelines for:
11. Training Requirements Analysis
12. Training technologies
13. Predictive training concept development and
14. Training policy
