The MCG is more than just a stadium, it's an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future.A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join a growing team as they continue to provide Insights (Business intelligence, data analytics and customer research) services to the business. Reporting to the Insights & Analytics Manager, the job's goals are to provide the Strategy & Insights team with professional assistance:To successfully deliver insights (Business Intelligence, data analytics and customer research) as a service across the businessPlay a lead role in supporting data-driven decision making, and continuous performance improvementCollaborate with all departments to gather, analyse and interpret diverse datasets to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic business objectivesKey responsibilities of the Senior Data Analyst include (however not limited to):Work closely with the Insights & Analytics Manager to interpret and deliver Business Intelligence and data analytics requests from across the business.Gather, analyse and interpret complex datasets to uncover trends, correlations and insights that support decision making, and drive key business outcomes.Design, develop and maintain key solutions for internal stakeholders, including detailed reports, dashboards, complex data models and data concepts.Collaborate with various departments to understand their needs, enabling us to transform and continuously improve our operations.Work with the Data Engineering Team to manage data systems and support project requirements.Ensure the accuracy, quality and integrity of data through appropriate validation processes.Continuously evaluate and support improvement of data collection methods and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Present key insights and reports to the Executive Leadership Team, Committees, and other key stakeholders as necessary.Support the delivery of the Customer Research Program with further analysis as required, and participate in the Customer Research Working Group.Participate in the departmental efforts to achieve the objectives set out in the MCC Strategic and annual Business Plans.Undertake other strategic project-related duties as deemed necessary to the role as directed by the Insights & Analytics Manager or the Executive Manager, Strategy & Insights.To be successful in this role you will leverage a combination of advanced analytical skills, technical expertise and strong business sense. You will have previously worked with large and complex datasets to provide valuable insights that drive strategic decision making. In addition to this you will be able to effectively communicate findings to a number of different stakeholders and provide recommendations that are backed by data.It is essential you also have the following:At least 7 years of experience in a data analyst role (or similar)Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as data analytics, business intelligence or information technology.Proven experience working with large datasets, statistical modelling, and data analysis tools.Advanced knowledge of Power BI & DAX.Experience with statistical programming language Python is critical.T-SQL & MySQL knowledge.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to a wide range of stakeholders.Experience in building strong relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.Always being prepared to lend a hand.Passion/interest in our industry, particularly football and cricket, venue management would be advantageous, but not essential.If this interests you and you have the experience, qualification and the skillset outlined above, we would love to hear from you.
