The Opportunity:
KBR's growing Aerospace Team is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Safety Engineer to assist our Canberra-based client.
The Systems Safety Engineer will provide support associated with the System Safety Program and the efficient identification and management of Safety Case issues.
The Systems Safety Engineer will use their specialised knowledge to solve complex and unique problems, and direct daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support within project controls.
Location: Canberra preferred, however may consider remote from Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
Responsibilities:
* Provide assistance in shaping the System Safety Program for the projects within the business area.
* Provide specialist System Safety guidance to address System Safety issues.
* Conduct and participate in System Safety discussions, working groups and ad-hoc meetings as they are scheduled.
* Provide support to review /approval of artefacts developed by other staff within scope and level of Engineering Authority assigned by the COA.
* Provide support to the development of relevant Engineering Tech Work Instructions to ensure compliance with CASG policy / guidance while capturing lessons learnt and best practice.
* Provide Engineering input to the development of the SPO’s Strategies and Plans, including policy and procedures.
* Provide reports and other artefacts relating to:
o System Safety Program
o Minutes of working group
o System Safety recommendations
o Certification Plans
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
* Demonstrated previous experience in
o Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR), European Defence Agency requirements or European Aviation Safety Agency regulation set; and
o Aviation System Safety Management
* Minimum NV1 Australian Government security clearance
* will require immediate access to ITAR information
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Defence Writing standards (Desirable)
* Knowledge of internal Defence processes (Desirable)
* Ability to work autonomously, multi-task and demonstrate an ability to meet demanding milestones. (Highly desirable)
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding an NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
