About the role:
Based in Adelaide, and reporting to the State Manager, as the Key Account Manager your focus will be on key customer management around growth, retention, processes, supply operations & private label. This is done through utilising your strong pharmacy/wholesale background, all technology available, whilst collaboratively working with supply chain to influence the service promise. The major emphasis is on managing large groups and leading BDM’s in their field activities whilst liaising with customers to generate additional sales and growth.
What you’ll do:
* Lead a team of BDMs in field activities to ensure all KPI’s are met.
* Oversee call cycle and CRM activity of the team.
* Ensure the territory budgets and new business targets are met.
* Communicate buying opportunities and promotions in conjunction with state-based sales teams inline with national merchandise team direction.
* Work collaboratively with key clients, major groups, and Supply Chain to maximise sales across the network.
* Ongoing analysis of competitor’s pricing policies and margins to ensure API is competitively positioned in the marketplace.
* Coordinate pricing activities to ensure pricing strategies are optimised.
* Work proactively with the national merchandise team and warehouse team to meet supplier needs.
* Generate and analyse daily reports to ensure stock levels are adequately maintained at State level; analysis to include group specific accounts where the accounts have special business significance.
* Provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders by delivering KPIs and maintaining positive working relationships.
* Manage the preparation and rollout of any ethical /OTC parcel deals for the State.
What you’ll bring:
* A minimum of 5 years Sales or Account Management experience, preferably within a pharmaceutical wholesale operation.
* Ability to quickly establish and maintain strong professional relationships.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Extensive experience in generating and analysing reports.
* Ability to remain calm during times of pressure and effectively deal with conflicting deadlines.
* Familiarity of financial reports and able to plan a course of action to improve results.
* Well-developed ability to identify new business opportunities.
* Strong commercial focus & business acumen.
* The drive to achieve and exceed targets.
* Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
