Primary Coordinator / Teaching Role - Term 1, 2025
The School
Tamborine Mountain College (TMC) is a K-12 independent, non-denominational, coeducational day school in the Gold Coast Hinterland, a short 25 minute drive from the M1. The College is a growing school with a great sense of community.
The Opportunity
The Primary Coordinator (PC) is a new 0.5 leadership/administration role at the College, and supports the Head of Primary with the management and leadership of the primary school. The role has the following key responsibilities:
Operational Management
* Assist in the coordination of, and manage logistics for, Primary School events, sports carnivals, camps, and extracurricular activities and ensure efficient communication with all stakeholders.
* Support the Head of Primary (HoP) to develop, lead and manage systems and resources to support teaching, learning, reporting and administration.
* Act as the HoP in their absence.
Staff Development
* Assist the HoP and Director of Teaching and Learning (DoT&L) to support and develop staff through induction, regular monitoring, data gathering and analysis, professional learning, collaborative practices and enacting effective employee relations.
* Collaborate with the HoP and DoT&L to enhance staff development and pedagogical practices, utilising the Teacher Growth and Development Framework.
* Support professional learning opportunities for staff, encouraging ongoing personal and professional growth.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to staff in implementing wellbeing and engagement strategies.
Community Engagement and Communication
* Assist the HoP in the organisation and facilitation of information evenings and other events that promote family involvement in school life.
Pastoral and Student Wellbeing
* Support staff in implementing behaviour management strategies aligned with College policies.
Teaching Load
The PC has a 0.5 teaching load - a single subject they teach across Prep - Year 6. The ideal candidate will be able to teach one of the following subjects:
* HPE
* Drama, Visual Arts, Dance and/or Media Arts
* Technologies
* Another subject as negotiated with the HoP
