For this role, we are looking for a health care professional with: Relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in forensic mental health Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or membership to relevant professional association where registration is not offered. Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in forensic mental health practice, specifically risk assessment and management of problematic behaviours. Strong interpersonal skills and leadership experience. Experience with multi-agency liaison and inter-service collaboration. The Role The Manager Forensic Consultation and Assessment Team (ForCAT) is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Forensic Consultation and Assessment Team. The ForCAT is one of the three services falling under the remit of NSW Community Forensic Mental Health Services. The ForCAT is a tertiary-level specialist forensic mental health team that provides independent assessment, opinions, recommendations, and support in relation to the care, treatment and management of Forensic Patients in the community across NSW. The ForCAT also provides such assessment, opinions, recommendations and support regarding the treatment and management of NSW civil patients with complex clinical needs, propensity for problematic behaviours, and who cause significant concern about harm to others. The Manager ForCAT will provide operational oversight, resource management and support to the multidisciplinary team while maintaining a capped clinical caseload of patients who experience a range of complex problem behaviours who reside in hospital or in the community. This role will support the delivery of specialist forensic mental health services, which takes into account the patient's clinical, psychosocial, behavioural and risk vulnerabilities while applying evidence-based risk assessment tools. The role will also require skills in strategic planning, implementing change, data collection and analysis, budgeting, program evaluation and people management expertise at a senior level. The Manager ForCAT will work in partnership with the Local Health Districts (LHD), Ministry of Health, Mental Health Review Tribunal, and other government and non-government organisations (NGOs) across NSW to ensure evidence based forensic mental health care is delivered.
