Audit and Risk Committee - External Independent MembersExpressions of interest are sought from two suitably qualified and experienced persons to join the City of Wanneroo's Audit and Risk Committee as voluntary external members.The role of the Audit and Risk committee is to support the Council in fulfilling its governance and oversight responsibilities in relation to financial reporting, internal control structure, risk management, internal and external audit functions and ethical accountability. The Committee will meet as a minimum on a quarterly basis.Applications must be independent of Council and must have senior business, financial management, risk management and/or auditing knowledge and/or experience. In addition, applicants need to be conversant with financial and other reporting requirements, demonstrate excellent analytical skills, strategic management skills and comply with the City's Code of Conduct.A per meeting fee up to the maximum determined from time to time by the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal and approved by Council will be paid to the External Independent member.Expressions of interest are to be submitted addressing the following selection criteria:The person has not previously been employed and has no business or other relationships with the City within the last three years;The person must have suitable qualification, experience and/or knowledge in business, financial management, risk management and/or auditing;The person does not have a direct or indirect financial interest with the City;The person is sufficiently impartial and disconnected from City's operations;The person is free of any interest, position, or relationship that might influence - or be perceived to influence - their capacity to exercise independent judgement; andThe person is not a current serving Council Member of other local government.The appointment will be made by Council for a 2-year term period.The City is seeking to appoint two External Independent members.About the City of WannerooThe City of Wanneroo is a diverse and flexible environment where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the local community and our people.
