Fulcrum is seeking a lawyer with 5+ years' post-admission experience to build and manage its in-house legal team.
Fulcrum Media Finance is the market-leading cashflow financier for film and television productions in Australia and New Zealand. We provide cashflow solutions for various grants and tax rebates, including the Australian Producer Offset and the New Zealand Screen Production Rebate. Fulcrum also assists with cashflow for distribution guarantees, international presales, and licence fees. To date, we have financed over 400 film and television productions including The Power of the Dog, The Newsreader, Bump, Bluey and Survivor (Series 7).
Role Description The key responsibilities of the role include:
Drafting and reviewing Fulcrum's agreements, including its loan, security and interparty documentation Reviewing and commenting on co-financier agreements, including distribution agreements, licence agreements and investment agreements Instructing external lawyers Conducting research on legal and regulatory issues relevant to Fulcrum and film and television industry Improving internal legal processes including template and precedent management Advising on compliance and regulatory issues including AML/CTF compliance Corresponding and liaising with producers and lawyers on project-related matters Attending film and television industry briefings, functions, festivals and markets Who we are looking for The essential criteria for the role include:
Minimum 5 years of post-admission legal experience Ability to work to deadlines in a high-volume work environment Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively Experience in contract negotiation and drafting Strong attention to detail The ideal applicant may be an entertainment lawyer or business affairs executive who is looking to gain more experience in film and television financing, and take an active role building and maintaining relationships with the key players in the industry. The role would also be ideal for a lawyer with banking or finance experience who is looking to make a move into the film and television industry.

Our offices are based in Paddington, NSW. We are open to applicants working from Melbourne.
