If you have a passion for control systems, a keen eye for detail, and thrive in fast-paced environments, we want to hear from you!Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll play a critical role in designing, programming, documenting, and commissioning control systems that drive our cutting-edge automation solutions.This role is needed to scale our technology globally, taking successful pilot projects and scaling it across to other sites with different PLCs and control infrastructures.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including internal development and external (site) engineering, to ensure successful project delivery and optimal performance of our systems.This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation (including participation in the tech scale-up’s equity), accelerated career development, and the chance to work on state-of-the-art technology that makes a real impact in the container shipping industry.Flexible hours and working location available but regular time in the office is required.International travel for site visits may be required infrequently.About the role:In this role, you will contribute to the success of our automation solutions by leveraging your expertise in PLC programming, system integration, and commissioning. You will ensure our control systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with industry standards to drive performance and innovation.Developing and programming control systems ensuring high standards of functionality and reliability. Experience in PLCs such as ABB, Siemens, Fuji, and Yaskawa is preferable.Creating and maintaining thorough documentation for all stages of the project, including change notifications, functional descriptions, and user manuals.Commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements and perform optimally in live environments.Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including project managers and other engineers, to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.Assessing new projects and designing viable control system solutions, in tandem with the development team.Ensuring all control systems are designed to relevant safety standards and regulations.Any other duties assigned by the manager.Whom we’re looking for:Minimum 3 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a strong background in PLC programming, particularly with ABB, Siemens, Fuji, and Yaskawa PLCs.Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations in the control systems space.Proficiency in coding, system integration, and commissioning of control systems in industrial settings.Demonstrated experience in creating detailed technical documentation, including change notifications, functional specifications, and testing protocols.Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments, managing multiple projects and priorities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing system issues.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to achieve common goals.Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site commissioning and support as needed.If you’re ready to make an impact and be part of a forward-thinking team, apply now by submitting your CV and Cover Letter through Seek.IMPORTANT - In your CV or cover letter, please make sure you list the PLCs you have worked with.
