Kelmscott Senior High School (SHS) is seeking two (2) dedicated and enthusiastic Science teachers to join their team. One of these roles will specialise in teaching Chemistry. All positions will commence Term 1, 2024.
The successful applicants will ideally have experience in teaching upper and lower school Science and possess strong skills and experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Science (and/or Chemistry), or the capacity to do so in 2024. You ideally possess a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all learners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment will be well regarded, as well as a willingness to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks.
The successful applicants should actively participate in professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your classroom practice to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching and ongoing improvement. We are seeking applicants with knowledge and skills to utilise systemic data such as Student Achievement Information System (SAIS), National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) to address individual student learning needs.
Kelmscott SHS follows a school-wide Teaching and Learning Instructional Framework addressing high impact teaching strategies. Teachers will design and deliver lessons aligned to the Framework and receive coaching and feedback.
