As per the AusCycling Strategy and upon review by the AusCycling Executive Leadership Team.ObjectivesAustralians contesting the biggest bike competitions on the planetDevelop and support performance environments for athletes and coachesLead National teams at international events and major gamesUnite our community and strengthen our delivery networkResponsibilitiesThe following responsibilities are indicative requirements of the role and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all requirements.Coach Performance - Acceleration & ActionCoaching the coachesDrive the strategic direction, development and positioning of coaching and performance support for the Acceleration & Action Program around a clearly defined performance modelLead, and directly manage the performance of the coaches, ensuring coaches have clear objectives, individual development plans and timely access to feedbackProvide leadership, support and guidance to the coaches to develop relevant coaching knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours and attitudes, and identify best practice opportunities for continued professional developmentEmpower the Acceleration & Action team to develop, implement and evolve activity to ensure continuous improvement, the delivery of world leading development environments and that riders are provided with appropriate levels of support and challengeDrive an innovative, curious, performance focussed coaching team to put the Acceleration & Action Program at the forefront of contemporary coaching practiceLeadership & ManagementAs a member of the AusCycling Performance Senior Leadership Team (SLT) collaboratively contribute to overall planning, strategy and performance including:Coordinating Acceleration & Action coach engagement and inputMonitoring and continuous assessment of the Performance Program priority activities, targets and eventsSharing resources to achieve team goals and outcomesPrepare and present reports as required by the EGM-PerformanceResponsibility for resources including:Physical - responsible for ensuring that resources and tools used to facilitate the Acceleration & Action Program are managed, fit for purpose and maintained to the necessary safety standardsBudget - oversee management of budget processes supporting the Acceleration & Action Program and associated training and competition activityPeople - line management of relevant coaches and Acceleration & Action staffEmbed AusCycling policies and processes across the Acceleration & Action Program and ensure actions and behaviours are aligned to the organisational values.Performance PlanningLead the Acceleration & Action team to produce a world leading performance plan orientated around priority activities, targets and events defined in the AusCycling Performance Strategic PlanLead the development of evidence-based, discipline specific, performance trajectory targets and the development of "What will it take to win" (WWITTW) models that define the process of how these are to be achieved. Ensure that targets and models are understood and translated into the daily performance environments of the Acceleration & Action ProgramsSupport the coaches to create discipline specific campaign plans aligned to the overall objectives, performance targets and WWITTW models. Ensure campaign plans are appropriately communicated across the team to promote clarity and understandingQuality assure and support the implementation of Individual Performance Plans (IPPs) for riders, discipline training plans, training camps and competitions and ensure activity is prioritised in alignment with campaign plansLead on the development and monitoring of each disciplines qualification strategy to ensure Australia targets maximum available quota places for priority eventsDevelop a framework to monitor progression against each disciplines campaign plan using an evidence-based approachLead on prioritisation processes that outline where effort and resources need to be focused to meet the program aims at both discipline and rider levels. Ensure clarity and understanding is maintained with coaches, staff and riders through effective and appropriate communicationContinually seek to identify and shape areas of support to maximise our chances of success, inclusive of structural, developmental and strategicPerformance SupportCollaborate with the relevant Acceleration & Action team support, to ensure appropriate deployment of performance support staffNote: This role will require the incumbent to travel domestically and or internationally to enable collaboration with stakeholders. Attendance at meetings and events is a requirement of the role, along with reasonable additional hours (outside of normal business hours) as necessary to meet the requirements of the role.
