You will be part of the Global Procurement family of 450 Procurement professionals across the globe.As the APAC Category Manager, you will be part of the team of 27 Procurement professionals and will support the APAC business with a broad remit looking after our primary packaging category across Australia, Indonesia, China, etc., as well as our third-party operators based in Japan and Thailand.What does this role look like for you?Develop and implement procurement strategies for primary packaging category.Lead end to end strategic sourcing activities, including source planning, tender evaluations, contract negotiation and contract handovers.Build strong business partnerships with business stakeholders and suppliers to achieve targeted outcomes.Identify commercial opportunities and efficiencies within the category to deliver the cost and cash target.Drive progress toward Diageo's ambition Society 2030, which includes promoting positive drinking; championing inclusion and diversity; pioneering grain-to-glass sustainability; and doing business the right way.What will you bring to the table?Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering game-changing interventions and category management within Procurement with best-in-class procurement technical knowledge.Solid exposure to Supply and external manufacturing categories. A broader cross-functional procurement experience would be an advantage.Demonstrable experience in business partnering with a senior and complex stakeholder group, with broad business acumen and able to communicate in commercial business language with credibility and demonstrating high levels of EQ.Experience in operating in a matrixed environment is highly desirable.Ability to clearly communicate and articulate complex situations in simple terms to enable stakeholder engagement and buy-in.Demonstrable experience working at a regional level and understanding of cultural sensitivities across the APAC region.Thrives in an ambiguous environment and is energised by creating and developing strategic solutions.Demonstrable ability for multi-tasking and prioritising effectively whilst managing a high workload.Experience operating successfully with virtual and remote teams across all levels of seniority.Demonstrable capability to think at a strategic level with a hands-on approach for strategy execution.What are the benefits?We are an organisation that creates products that are part of celebrations, and our culture reflects this.
