Rural Clinical SchoolPart-time (20%), fixed-term position through to 31st December 2026Base salary will be in the range $112,572- $133,381 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B)Based at the Rockhampton HospitalAbout This OpportunityThe Lecturer in Clinical Education will take a leadership role in the facilitation of clinical and procedural learning activities and teaching for medical students at the Rockhampton Regional Clinical Unit (RCU) in a manner that promotes inclusivity and a sense of belonging for students with the primary focus on providing a mutually supportive environment to allow medical students to flourish.UQ MD Design curriculum uses Team-Based Learning (TBL) model in year 1 MD and Case-Scenario-Based Learning (CSBL) in year 2 MD.
This role will undertake the duties of a Year 2 Development Coach, serve as CSBL tutor and contribute to other teaching in Years 1 & 2 in an ad hoc manner when there is capacity.Key Responsibilities Will IncludeTeaching: Organise and facilitate high-quality clinical learning experiences for UQ medical students, focusing on Years 1 and 2 MD, including roles as Year 2 Development Coach and CSBL tutor.Contribute to clinical teaching, developing students' professional identity, clinical knowledge, and procedural skills while recruiting clinicians to support teaching activities.Collaborate with clinical educators, serve as a professional role model, engage in personal professional development, and participate in teaching scholarship.Research: Contribute to building the RRCU and the UQ Rural Clinical School's (RCS) research capacity by encouraging students and clinical staff to undertake research and scholarship of teaching and learning.Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise and support staff by providing feedback, coaching, and professional development, while managing conflicts and grievances in line with University policies.Effectively manage staff throughout their lifecycle, ensuring adherence to University policies and procedures.Citizenship and Service: Promote a respectful, inclusive, and culturally safe environment while actively contributing to governance and initiatives within the School, Faculty, and University.This is a teaching focused position.
