This is a fixed-term part-time position at 0.8 EFT (Long Service Leave Cover, February 2025 to May 2025).Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides support to the organisation over a wide range of education and development services, including but not limited to, in-service education, development and delivery of training programs, competency assessments, supervision of student placements and staff development education.We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, experienced and enthusiastic people with a passion for learning and development to work collaboratively in providing high-quality learning opportunities, using a range of modalities that support and enable participants to practice as safe, confident and accountable professionals.This stimulating role would suit an experienced nurse who has clinical expertise in Medical-Surgical Nursing. The MEO will be responsible for facilitating the continuing education of prevocational Doctors (specifically PGY1, PGY2 and those PGY3 not in vocational studies). They will work with the Senior Medical Staff responsible for the supervision and education of prevocational Medical Staff (eg Director of Clinical Training (DCT), Supervisors of Intern Training, Physician, Surgical Clinicians and Registrars) to maximise and promote teaching and learning for this group. They need to be flexible, solutions-focused, committed to quality, willing to accept a challenge and enjoy working within a team that is dedicated to providing great service to their client group.Our preferred candidate will have:Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia.At least 5 years of post-qualification experience.Post-graduate qualification in Clinical nursing or equivalent.Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Strong communication skills, verbal and written, including a demonstrated customer service and problem-solving approach to dealing with colleagues and clients.Demonstrated experience in clinical education, development and preceptoring.Evidence of ongoing professional development in education/clinical education.The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:Understanding of the requirements of the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training (NFPMT).Good understanding of Postgraduate Medical Accreditation processes.Understanding of medical staff education and training requirements.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or relevant tertiary qualification in education.About our organisationThe West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a growing regional health service, providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to one of the fastest-growing Local Government Areas in the country – Baw Baw Shire.
