The Department of Health provides support to nurses and midwives to re-enter practice via the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Supervised Practice - Pathway 1 or Re-entry Program - Pathway 2. Salary $69,835per annum Classification Registered Nurse Grade 3-4 (Increment point Grade 3, Year 1) Eligibility To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following criteria: Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen Tasmanian resident for the 12-month period, immediately prior to the time of application A previously registered nurse or midwife who has not practised for 5-10 years and unable to meet NMBA registration requirements Obtained NMBA written approval to complete Re-entry to Practice via Pathway 1 or Pathway 2 Be accepted into Supervised Practice Pathway 1 with Department of Health ( Pathway 1 only ) Be successful in being accepted into a NMBA approved Re-entry to practice Program, including evidence of a secured clinical placement for the practice component of the program ( Pathway 2 only ) Please carefully read through the information regarding this process, found here, to make sure you meet the eligibility requirements prior to submitting an application. Duties The Re-Entry Nurse/Midwife-Supervised Practice is required to: Actively participate in Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) approved learning plan in accordance with the NMBA, Agency and legal requirements. Participate in clinical activities and duties under supervision to meet the requirements set by the NMBA in order to have general registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife. Essential Requirements Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with provisional or general registration with conditions. Recommended by Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) to undertake Re-entry to Practice Pathway 1 – Supervised practice in Tasmania. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (applies only to employees working in particular areas).
