STELaRLab is Lockheed Martin’s first dedicated multi-disciplinary research lab to be setup outside of the US and conducts research in artificial intelligence, signal and image processing, communication systems and multidomain operations (MDO) to deliver exciting outcomes that advance Australian capability.

Your responsibilities will include:
As a Machine Learning Researcher, you will perform research and/or product development for multiple scientific or engineering disciplines including Machine Learning, Computer Science, Signal or Image Processing, Communication and Analytics with tasks including:
1. Executing application-driven R&D projects within a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Designing and implementing solutions and prototypes that draw from the state-of-the-art in academic literature to deliver transformational capability.
3. Partnering with academia, government and industry to advance technologies with practical relevance, and engaging with the community to showcase your capabilities.
4. Developing your technical and professional expertise to expand the breadth of solutions you may bring to any given problem.
About you:
Essential skills and experience:
5. PhD in a related discipline from a recognised institute.
6. Execution of R&D tasks for projects in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Signal or Image Processing, Analytics, or associated disciplines.
7. Participation in multi-disciplinary research teams.
8. Strong communication and influencing skills including the ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports to stakeholders.
Desirable knowledge and experience:
9. Machine Learning.
10. Signal and /or image processing.
11. Communications and/or radar electronic warfare processing.
12. Communications engineering/modelling, including space-based systems.
13. Sensor systems (imaging, radio frequency, other).
14. Sensor and information fusion, and methods for accounting for data uncertainty.
15. Space systems.
