Join to apply for the Senior Advisor (Project Evaluation) role at Department of Transport and Main Roads.The Project Evaluation Unit plays a key role in providing advice to Project Owners and senior management, to ensure that investment proposals are processed in accordance with relevant guidelines and methodologies, fully aligned with the department's strategic objectives, and seek to maximise value for money.ResponsibilitiesThe Project Evaluation Unit provides specialist skills in the areas of economic analysis, financial/commercial analysis, benefits management, documentation preparation, project management and the management of specialist consultancies. Some of your responsibilities will include:Coordinate, develop and monitor correspondence related to assessments of major transport infrastructure projects, for example Infrastructure Australia, Government agencies such as the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, and Planning, Queensland Treasury and other agencies.Under the direction of the Manager you will lead or assist in the development of key components of transport infrastructure project evaluations, including strategic reviews, financial, commercial, economic, legislative and benefits analysis.Where required, assist the project team by providing advice and drafting key components of major transport infrastructure project evaluations, as part of the development of the Strategic Assessment of Service Requirements, Preliminary Evaluation and Business Case stages of the Project Assessment Framework.Promote and implement the Whole of Government evaluation frameworks and requirements, including TMRs' On-Q framework, the Queensland Government's PAF and Business Case Development Framework, and Australian Government requirements, including the Infrastructure Australia Assessment Framework and the Australian Transport Assessment and Planning (ATAP) guidelines to deliver robust major project evaluations.Foster and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for the department relevant to major project evaluation.Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And AttributesExperience or a degree(s) in Economics or Engineering.
