Sandvik Ground Support Division also provides galvanising and other related services to the mining, civil, marine, commercial, and industrial industries.About the RoleBased at Narangba and reporting to the Regional Chief Operational Officer (APAC), the Site Operations Manager – Brisbane is responsible for the management of manufacturing, maintenance and engineering functions located at the Brisbane Facility. The key objectives of the role are to contribute to, and implement strategies aimed at maintaining and improving performance in regards to Safety, Quality, Profitability and Delivery by leveraging the resources available and applying the Lean principles to all work processes. Core duties include:Develop and execute an operations plan that achieves a reduction of product conversion costs through effective planning, asset utilisation, process capability, labour requirements, employee productivity and reliability.Implement Lean methodologies within production department including the selection and leading of specific projects, coaching and mentoring of staff and leaders and provision of support for factory initiatives.Design, implement, control and improve manufacturing management systems and processes to achieve and sustain customer demands.Identify KPIs to ensure performance can be effectively monitored, reported and controlled.Engage with technical and other support functions to ensure optimum use of plant resources.In consultation with the RCOO, develop and present an annual capital plan for the Brisbane facility.Develop and present business cases to support capital investment requests in line with the established procedure.Oversee the execution and delivery of approved engineering projects, monitoring progress as needed.Ensure that maintenance activities are planned into the production schedule so that equipment is serviced at the appropriate intervals.Oversee the organisation of labour to ensure the production plan can be achieved at the minimum cost/maximum efficiency.Deploy operations plan (including core values) through the Brisbane operation to align behaviour and focus effort and resources on critical activities.Ensure policies, procedures and training is deployed effectively to drive delivery performance and operational efficiency and quality.About YouTo be considered for this opportunity, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification, proven management and leadership experience, and a strong background in heavy processing or manufacturing. You bring thorough knowledge of WHS requirements and legislation, effective planning and scheduling abilities, and a solid understanding of industrial relations and employment law.
