Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities.
Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.About the role This role aimes to deliver accredited training to participants enrolled in Certificate II Horticulture, CALM Conservation and Land Management, including negotiation of work experience placements for students.
This is achieved by planning, delivering, and reviewing the training and assessments to meet the identified competency requirements of the target group, to the standard required by Eva Burrows College and external accreditation authorities.We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Conservation and Ecosystem and Management Trainer, at our Bundaberg location.
Reporting to the Manager, Training and Education, this is a permanent, full-time position.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Labour Award, level 2.You will successfully Plan, prepare and deliver courses /training according to the training package or accredited course and in line with industry standards.
Provide flexible learning and assessment strategies which will meet the learning needs of a range of students.
Development of session plans, handouts and course materials in line with internal and external standards.Design and manage student assessments ensuring a range of assessment methods are utilised.
Actively participate in validation meetings on assessment processes, tools and evidence, related to your area of expertise.
Contribute to internal reviews and audits as requested.Ensure all administration/record management requirements of the Horticulture Trainer are met, including; student competency records/ attendance records/ student assessments/ competency assessment matrix (CAM).
You will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications) Certificate III or higher in subject of training – Horticulture & Calm TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Current working with Children Check (blue card) Extensive knowledge of plants and their use, including food plants, introduced species, indigenous, Australian native and bush food plants.
