About the RoleWe are looking for a positive, motivated and guest-focused professional to join our dynamic Front Office team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on beautiful K'gari (Fraser Island).The Guest Service Agent/Porter role is a combination of front desk guest service and luggage handling services responsible for ensuring a proficient and exceptional guest experience from barge to room. Duties include check-in/check-out reception, resort facility and experience bookings, guest accounts, customer service, luggage pick-up and delivery handling, passenger and luggage bus coordination and transportation. This role is physically demanding requiring good knowledge and experience in manual handling procedures.This is a permanent part-time position, and our ideal candidate will have resort/hotel front desk and porter experience and the willingness to live on the island, where you work and live at Kingfisher Bay Resort.Role ResponsibilitiesGreet all incoming and outgoing guests and conduct premium check-in and check-out service.Provide guest customer service and coordination of general inquiries.Coordinate, pick-up and deliver guest luggage to and from rooms across the resort.Be knowledgeable of resort areas and confident in recommending available experiences and activities.Coordinate and transport bus to barge/resort for arrivals and departures.Maintain guest accounts, billing arrangements and payments on check-out.Follow in-house policies and procedures to maintain guest security.Skills, Qualifications & Experience RequiredDemonstrated experience in a similar role in a large Hotel or Resort-based environment.Demonstrated experience in daily cashiering procedures, credit card reconciliation.Demonstrated experience in a manual handling role, including luggage handling.Excellent English written and communication skills.Extraordinarily high level of customer service and work ethic.Knowledge of property management systems.Able to work unsupervised, in a timely manner and make decisions within set guidelines.Demonstrate people management skills and an understanding of cultural diversity within the workplace.A valid driver's license.Employee Benefits - conditions applyAffordable Island Living: Only $150.44 per week, including accommodation, 3 daily staff meals, utilities and Wi-Fi.Annual $1,000 SeaLink employee travel allowance.25% off resort dining, bars, retail, and spa.Employee training programs.Recognition programs.Free K'gari Explorer Tours.Free ferry transportation to and from the island.Access to our Sand Bar pool, staff gym, tennis courts, and more.About UsK'gari is a World Heritage listed island off Australia's Eastern Queensland coast, is the world's largest sand island, stretching over 120km.
