Job Title: Town Planner
About the Role:
As a key member of the Planning and Projects team at MAAS Group Holdings (ASX - MGH), you will contribute to the delivery of MGP Residential projects.
You will work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment on a variety of projects across regional NSW for MGH, interacting with business stakeholders, consultants, and council throughout the development process.
Daily Duties:
* Interpret relevant local and state government planning strategies, policies, directions, and legislation.
* Design development, documentation, management of projects and their associated delivery as required.
* Engage with consultants to assist in the provision of advice and reporting deliverables on technical matters related to Development Applications.
* Coordinate fee proposals and supporting technical advice for various developments and their approval pathways.
* Prepare Statement of Environmental Effects and coordinate supporting documentation and reports relating to proposed development.
* Undertake desktop site analysis and research in relation to town planning provisions, development opportunities and constraints.
* Analyze complex planning matters and determine solutions in an effective and timely way.
* Negotiate outcomes on applications considering applicant, community needs, and consistency with planning provisions and legislation.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or related field, or commensurate experience.
* Current Australian Driver's License.
* Eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings and diagrams.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW planning system and development assessment process.
* Proficient oral/written communication skills, including ability to write complex reports in plain English.
