City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.About the RoleWe are seeking someone to lead the development of our coastal strategic plans and influence our capital projects to provide high-quality outcomes for our community. The successful candidate would lead the development of the new Foreshore Management Plan and the Coastal Adaptation Strategy, working directly with the consultant and internal stakeholders, managing all stages of the project including extensive community engagement.The role will also provide advice and guidance on our coastal capital program, working directly with teams across council to provide technical expertise to ensure delivery of high-quality coastal projects which provide ongoing benefits to the community. Working as part of a dedicated team, the successful candidate would need to have excellent interpersonal skills, be innovative, efficient and have experience working within Council project frameworks.Duties:Lead the review and update of the Foreshore Management Plan (FMP) and the creation of a new Coastal Adaptation Plan Stages 1-4 (CAP), delivering on time, to a high quality, and within agreed budgets and scope.Represent the capital program and placemaking responsibilities of the Coordinator Foreshore, providing sound advice, support and guidance to the project delivery teams, internal stakeholders, and project sponsors regarding coastal projects.Lead engagement activities with the community for the coastal strategies and act as the contact for coastal enquiries, internal and external.Skills and ExperienceExperience developing strategic documents, project management, and the delivery of integrated outcomes.Proven experience with complex community consultation and stakeholder management.High level analytical and conceptual skills in solving specialist problems relating to the planning for, and management of coastal or public spaces.Relevant experience in a local government context is desirable.CulturePeople enjoy working at the City of Port Phillip because we are a welcoming, healthy and inclusive workplace.
